Virtual Happy Hour Discussion on PBS docu-series "Asian Americans" and the Critical Role of APA Community Members in the "Black Lives Matter" Movement

  • Zoom

Join APABA-DC for an open-forum, virtual happy hour discussion on Thursday, July 16th starting at 6pm EST to reflect on the birth and history of the Asian American movement and our critical role in driving efforts, alongside our friends and allies in the Black community, to combat both individual and systemic bias, racism and injustice. We will be joined by Donald Young, Director of Programs for the Center for Asian American Media (CAAM) and co-producer of the PBS docu-series "Asian Americans," who will share some insight into the production of the series, followed by a few important clips from Episodes 4 and 5 and an open, informal discussion on how we can move forward as a united front towards a more inclusive and just society.

RSVP to join the discussion at this link. For those who RSVP, we will also provide permanent links to the series, courtesy of CAAM, along with a Zoom link to participate in the discussion. Please contact Melissa Nonaka and Anjum Unwala with any questions.
