Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani

This presentation will examine trademark litigation involving the luxury watch industry over the use of terms to identify gold metal alloys in watches. Against the backdrop of metallurgy, historical publications, and consumer perception, this presentation will discuss the classic fair use doctrine in a case study of trademark infringement suits spanning more than a decade with some of the world’s best known watch brands.
