Join us Friday, October 3, at 7:00pm for a special AAPI celebration performance of The Heart Sellers at Studio Theatre. A pre-show gathering with food catered by local AAPI-owned restaurants will be held prior to the 8:00pm performance.
The Heart Sellers is a story that foregrounds and explores the experiences of AAPI immigrant communities in America. On Thanksgiving Day 1973, two women meet in a near-empty grocery store. They are alone in a country they don’t know, so they decide to celebrate Thanksgiving together. As the evening progresses, over wine and a stubbornly frozen turkey, the two weigh the cost of pursuing an American dream, over wine and a stubbornly frozen turkey, finding humor and kinship in their similarities.
